Infection Control

This course is designed to address the ongoing concern of employees and health & safety managers, regarding the possibility of contracting an infectious disease through contact with an infected person or suffering illness through transmission of food materials from or via an infected person.

The training course is aimed at all levels and gives the student a good knowledge of infection control.  The course is run over one day and candidates will receive an attendance certificate.

Course length: 6 – 7 hrs

  • The risk to the worker and those in their care.
  • Duty of care.
  • The route of infection.
  • Exposure determination.
  • Sources of infection.
  • Specific infections and transmissible diseases.
  • Infectious diseases and their prevention.
  • Patient information.
  • Infection control programs.
  • Return to work decisions.
  • Exposure reporting and tracking.
  • Vaccination, immunisation and testing.
  • Handling of waste products.
  • Legal aspects.

Cost: £35 per person + VAT on open courses

£35 per person + VAT (min charge of £280 + VAT) for in-house courses

Courses can be run in house or at our training centres in Lincoln and Grimsby in Lincolnshire.  We also run open courses regularly for individuals or businesses needing to train single employees.
